Last minute Christmas gift idea for the young humans in your family

In this post: Ideal gift for your own kids as a last minute stocking filler, for your nephews and nieces who you love to spoil occasionally, and for your colleague’s or boss’s children who you wish to extend an appropriate gift for.

Hey! Just a heads up that this might only help you get your last minute Christmas gift in time if you live in Malta and purchase today, in time for delivery tomorrow! If you live elsewhere or delivery before Christmas isn’t crucial; stick around. There’s a solution for you too!

This year has been stressful enough. We’re all trying to make sense of what Christmas with the family will look like when we can’t just pop over to grandma’s, catch up and play games around the dining table.

If you are like me and have young cousins, nieces or nephews in your family that you are missing because you haven’t been able to spend time with them this year; you might feel motivated to spoil them a little to make sure they know how much you love them despite the distance.

That’s where this post comes in. I’m not going to overwhelm you with a million different gadgets from all corners of the internet that may be a hit or miss for the kid you want to buy a Christmas gift for. If you’re already in a bind because you haven’t picked the perfect gift out yet, and you’ve realised Christmas is just two days away, more gift ideas may not be better.

So let’s have a look at the stress free, last minute gift for kids I myself got (and your options)!

1. Pip Saves Christmas - Children’s Book

Pip Saves Christmas is the sweet story of a kind gerbil named Pip who dreams of going on big adventures and gets his wish sooner than he thought! Here’s the full blurb:

“Pip is a kind-hearted gerbil who lives on his own in a shoe at the edge of the forest. When Twinkle the elf shows up unexpectedly one cold Christmas Eve, Pip embarks on an amazing journey to the North Pole to try and rescue a group of elves.

Can Pip save Christmas? Will he solve the mystery of the missing cranberry sauce? And what other surprises are in store for him? From the creators of ‘Ellie and the Cupcakes’ and ‘Sam the Sneezing Scarecrow’, this delightful tale beautifully captures the Christmas spirit as seen through the eyes of a tiny creature with a big heart.”

Pip Saves Christmas is written by Maltese/British author Amanda Kidd, illustrated by the talented Noor Alshalabi, designed by myself, and printed locally by Faraxa Publishers. So if you love buying local and supporting women in business, this gift checks those boxes as well!

This is the third children’s book I’ve had the pleasure of typesetting for Amanda and I believe all of us involved wished to create a really magical installment for young budding bookworms. Of course, this makes me biased, but the People of the Internet seem to agree:

“If I could give 10 stars I would! My daughter is two and loved the previous books, and we couldn't wait to see what Amanda came up with next, and she did not disappoint. We have read this countless times since its release and my daughter loves looking for the elves and the hidden letters, every time, which demonstrates how delightful and captivating this story is, no matter how many times a day she asks me read it!” - Chloe Jones

“My boys loved guessing what has happened and also spotting the initials hidden in the book (what a clever idea!). The story is told in rhymes, which flow beautifully and are fun to read aloud, and the illustrations are just stunning. I can highly recommend this book!” - Dr Jana Broecker

Pip Saves Christmas - Children's Book by Amanda Kidd 04.jpg

Amanda and I work hard on making her stories accessible to all children. For this reason, Pip Saves Christmas, as well as her two other books: Sam the Sneezing Scarecrow and Ellie and the Cupcakes use dyslexia-friendly fonts wherever possible!

Sounds great!

If you’ve read this far and love the idea of gifting Pip to a young human you care about, you can buy a copy directly from Faraxa’s website for €7.50. It is a quick and painless checkout process you can do right now from the comfort of your home!

The best part is they will deliver your order to your door tomorrow free of charge! Giving you just enough time to wrap and drop it off before Christmas morning if you order today.

But I did mention that there are options, so here’s my one other last minute gift idea for you…

2. Buy All Three Books as a Bundle!

Faraxa are cleverly offering all three books Pip Saves Christmas, Sam the Sneezing Scarecrow, and Ellie and the Cupcakes as a discounted bundle, so you can get all three books for under €25!

This book bundle is great if you want to give one kid different reading options, or if you have more than one kid on your gift list.

Here’s the blurb for Sam the Sneezing Scarecrow:

“A sweet story about an adorable scarecrow with an unusual problem: he is allergic to feathers! Join Sam on his adventures and mishaps in this heart-warming tale about self-discovery, acceptance, courage and friendship.”

And the blurb for Ellie and the Cupcakes:

“When Ellie’s wish comes true and she turns into a giant, she thinks she’s the luckiest girl in the world. However, she soon discovers that being a giant comes with its own challenges, and compared to her size, Mum’s delicious cupcakes are now way too small!”

All three books come with activity pages and captivating, colourful illustrations. Ellie and the Cupcakes even comes with a cupcake recipe at the end so you (or the parents) can turn reading into another activity you do together!

Love this too!

If this sounds like a great idea, you can buy the 3 Book Bundle here!

What if I want to buy the books but I don’t live in Malta?

The good news is all three books are available on Amazon! As kindle or as paperbacks. Here’s where you can get them:

Pip Saves Christmas
Sam the Sneezing Scarecrow
Ellie and the Cupcakes

The bad news is - depending on shipping factors - I can’t promise you will receive them in time for Christmas. This might be a dealbreaker for you. But if it isn’t crucial for you to have them by Christmas, you may still love having this option available!

That is it from me for today! I hope this helped you find a solution to your last minute gift shopping. I wish you a lovely and healthy Christmas.

All the best!
Krysta
