MORE INFO
The challenge in this project was designing a packaging solution that reflected the public personality of the celebrity of choice or their visual identity well. The way the package opens holds a sense of unravelling, eluding to the many aspects of one human being. On the outside, all the package offers is the word “Prophet”; an alter ego of an alter ego. For many years, vocals for Dir en grey were credited under the name “Prophet” instead of Kyo. I found it fitting to include this as the farthest and most detached representation of him as possible. Inside at the core is where things get a little more intimate. Like a private affair, the packaging holds a limited edition item, purchasable and available to only a few.

The white sleeve represents the eccentricity Kyo displays as a performer on stage, whilst the black stands for the more reserved person behind the popular persona.

Celebrity brand & identity belong to their respective owners: Kyo and Sunkrad Ltd. Mara ring by Macabre Gadgets.
