Charlotte would rather chase grasshoppers than learn to track prey, until her pack is in danger and she has to race for help.

The verses sit in a soft sans serif, with key words like GROWL, POUNCE and HOWL set in a bold orange display face, so children can join in with the read-aloud. Text moves between white pages and the navy of the night scenes, and the book ends with an eight-page colouring section drawn from the illustrations.
